If you don’t have time to read our comment, this video tells you everything:

You don’t necessarily expect loud bass from Utrecht, his charming hometown…

BINKBEATS [SELF-RELEASED]

Blinkbeats from The Netherlands is not a common beatmaker, he IS the beat.

Don’t approach his art from a melodic perspective but from a rhythmic sense, to appreciate “a sculpture of drums” that he has prepared for you with infinite care and passion.

Saying “he’s fascinated by drums” is an understatement: as suggested by his alias, he eats/dreams/breathes percussions, studied them at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, launched his career by deconstructing beats from his favourite beatmakers, from Flying Lotus to Aphex Twin, and performs deep live acts where he creates intense dialogues between acoustic and electronic percussions.

In an era dominated by imitations, where producers continuously replicate identical sounds and patterns, stumbling upon an album like “Ohm”, with its perceptible human touch, is more than refreshing. The original and symbolic track titles already set the stage for the intriguing musical experience that awaits, and more than appreciating the originality of the concept, hitting play embarks the soul on an unexpectedly quick yet profound immersion.

Hypnotic yet devoid of loops, in some aspects naive yet punk, from Blinkbeats’ alternative rock and metal roots, “Ohm” exudes tribal energies while being the result of a solo live act. It not only rides on catchy dualities, but also innovates: it is minimalism from a de-structured percussive angle, animal and authentic. Feel the primal bass and ritualistic impulses…

FROM THE VAULT
RESURRECTING A DOPE RELEASE FROM THE PAST

Immerse yourself in his music composition:

For us, his best live set, to extend your guilty pleasure:

BLAWAN [TERNESC]

Blawan from England is not a common beatmaker, he IS the beat.

What? A scandalous repetition? You’re in the hypnotic techno realm babe, expect some…

Another scandalous statement: “Blawan is the world’s greatest groove maker of all time”…

No, it is not “an opinion”, it is not “a point of view”, it is not “a humble feel from us”, it is not “subjective”, it is a fact, period 😏

Warm welcome to “hypnotic industrial techno”, a sonic world with lots of metal and rust. Thanks to Blawan in particular, it is also dedicated to making you “comfortable with being uncomfortable.”

At the same time, if you are willing to change and grow in life, you need discomfort, discomposure, discomfiture, disturbance and many other “dis-” words, which we recommend to start applying with “Wet Will Always Dry”. It is our favourite album from Ternesc’s owner, even if he admittedly only made one.

Just as this last assertion seems absurd, the same can be said about industrial techno, in a positive way: just stop thinking, dance, sweat, trip, destroy all your chains, let your body get wet, as later, it will dry anyway………
