RESURRECTING A DOPE RELEASE FROM THE PAST
In our interview for Orb Mag, Claudio PRC shared with us the meaning of “012”, which also served to name his own label in 2020: “12 is an important number for me: it symbolises the beginning of a new cycle, an evolution of the previous ones, an opening to a much deeper, visionary and authentic sound.” He then followed up showing how central is the human dimension in his vision: “More than a label, I want 012 to be a platform that combines my passions, which are music and art. I want to give space to my collaborative projects, as well as open the door to the artists who fully identify themselves with the concept.”

CLAUDIO PRC [TGP/012]
Luigi Tozzi and Claudio PRC have in common a will to soften their surrounding worlds, which expresses itself first and foremost musically. If the latter has been inspired by the “musique concrète” for the experimental process, Detroit for the minimalism and the Elettronica Romana peers for the atmospheric smoothness, he became over time one of the greatest ambassadors of our aesthetic worldwide. We base this statement on his sound, which has been imitated by an infinite number of artists, on his success, which raised exponentially over the last decade, and on the impressive number of venues he has been invited to mix in.
In 2018, he came up with “012”, an album that reaches our shore like a warm, gentle breeze, but with the effect of a tornado in the haircut. It is for us a monument of soft music, in the image of our dear Italian gentleman, offering us a timeless concert, live from the “mystic garden” evoked in the third track. It is also a human gathering, with for instance “Constant Dream”, inspired by a band playing in the back in Melbourne’s market, that the maestro visited. Finally, the outro contains Bruce Lee’s quote “Be water my friend” and confirms Claudio PRC’s intentions, which he confessed in our interview for Orb Mag: “The album is a sort of purification for me, the result of a therapeutic path, a new inner search enriched from past experiences. I think that once we’ve reached a certain maturity, we need to take care more of our minds, to better face the society we’re living in.”
