Over the years, Monument has succeeded in becoming a trademark of quality mixes with its podcast, which had a lot to do with the networking skills of our dear Katerina Maragou, a beloved figure in our community. The media took also an honourable position regarding the live streams, having a great bag of magical live performances, played in beautiful original settings. We still have in mind the huge set of The Alchemical Theory in the Italian canyons, Birds ov Paradise’s deep live act, in front of intriguing windows at home, Claudio PRC’s set, highlighting the beauty of Sardinia, Yukari Okamura’s mesmerising performance on the roofs of Japan, and the very subtle Alpenglühen series.
The well-inspired duo of artists Binary Thoughts, from Macedonia, came with the present episode in 2022. Backstage, we call them “the hypnotic twins”, just based on their obvious – if not legendary – complicity, as suggested by their alias name and confirmed with their regular flawless b2b mixes. In their numerous podcasts, they accustom us to beautiful colourful journeys, with a systematically well-dosed energy. Their set for Monument is no exception, although maybe deeper than usual. The mix is highlighted by the visuals and shows also the kind humility of the two mates, who remain in the back to value the beautiful local landscapes, captured by a drone. It’s not often that we can see them playing live, and what better than a forest to enjoy their talent and elegance behind the decks? This is for sure a must-see video on a Sunday afternoon, or whenever the vibe is suitable to chill…
