SUGGESTIONS OF PLACES TO GO OUT
If you travel to Portugal’s sunny landscapes, consider a stop to Lisbon to vibrate at Lux Fragil, where Voices From The Lake played, at the Village Underground Lisboa, Arroz Estúdios or the Ministerium Club with its series of events called A L I C E! Further north, in the beautiful city of Porto, make a detour to the famous Orbits Gare club, where every weekend is placed under the sign of Techno, with the parties led by Amulador or the Hayes collective. There are also some great headliners at Industria Club. Between these two cities, you can find the Stereogun Club in Leiria and the Techno Bunker parties to get your feet wet!
Portugal is also a land of major festivals. If we can’t miss the unique Boom Festival and its international influence, our thoughts go to the incredible Orbits Festival of 2018 which was a unique edition. Vinculum, Basilar, two major events of our hypnotic and deep scene, immersed in the middle of nature, are definitely moments to live.
SOME LOCAL HYPNOTIC TECHNO ARTISTS AND LABELS
To all music lovers, you should know that Portugal is full of talent to discover and explore. We have already mentioned the Hayes collective, including Temudo and Nørbak, who left an important legacy in the Portuguese hypnotic techno scene. Enjoy also some great mixes by Aenan, an interesting collective of DJs.
We think of course of Lewis Fautzi and his label Faut Section as well, how not to mention them? There is also the quality project Reaktivate, owned by Quantic Spectroscopy, MuteMan and Simão Janela. On the deep side, we have Floating Machine (also part of the duo Teixo with Imaginary Landscapes), code-therapy, Rui G. and Floating Layers.
STNDRD, Enkō, Yassine, Moddullar, Re:Axis, Maria Callapez, FNTK, Edward Bei, Ricky Cross and Steve Parker are all worthy representatives as well of a hypnotic and/or raw techno, that you would be wrong not to listen to!
A Thousand Details also holds a great place in the circle, a talented producer, also amateur of ambient music, with his label ATD.
