Munich-based audiovisual label IO Records was founded in 2018 and is owned by Dycide, MTRL and Polygonia. It emerged from a Collective of friends, which partly explains the close relationship between its artists and how intimacy can be sensed in their music. Fresh and talented, they represent a German youth that we admire, a collective of prolific creators and musicians, in touch with various musical instruments. Dycide is for instance also a pianist, while Polygonia plays sax and violin as well, fuelling their inspiration from both the jazz and the alternative cultures.
Formerly involved in the Drum’n’bass movement, they are known to design very subtle atmospheric techno, each with a personal style, yet consistent with the label’s deep signature. Dycide and MTRL play the elegant card with complex evasive tunes, sublime and all in restraint. Polygonia goes experimental and proves that the genre can be groovy and melodious, she’s also a very inspired graphic designer. Delusional Circuits, the artist of the label, joins the trio in the video. Production-wise, he pushes the experimental boundaries further, with surgical and intriguing sonorities, in line with the talented microhouse technicians.
The four artists sit back, relax and answer to our chill out questions with authenticity, sharing their “tastes and colours” on various topics, as well as deeper considerations: “This is underground babe”…
