There is a whole world in Oreste ambient mixes…
ORESTE [ANNULLED MUSIC]
There is wisdom in youth. Take Oreste from France for instance, the young man approaches music with the naivety of his age: he experiments on intuition, out of the technical boundaries fixed by years in the studio. He produces mainly ambient music, whose stripped waves somewhat highlight his innocence. His pieces, dreamy with character, usually come at first in the VAs where he’s invited, because they often bring an instant smile and set a poetic tone for the projects.
After some releases on Ophax’s defunct label Lett Records, on Laura BCR’s On Board Music, on his label Emeral Garden which he co-owns with three friends, he had his first contact with Rafael Fijo, owner of Circular Limited, Annulled Music and संस्कार Rites, to produce a long EP on the latter in 2022. He’s now back to this collab, this time on Annulled, for a generous album with impressive pieces and remixes, in line with Oreste’s SoundCloud intro: “Sonic poetry” ✨

PRIMAL CODE [HYPNUS]
How important is music? When thinking of the impressive amount of roles it takes in our societies, cultural, religious, political, therapeutic, how it connects people together and speaks louder than words, it is worth reminding how irreplaceable it is. In 2002, Kurt Cobain stated that “live music is the most primal form of energy release you can share with other people besides having sex or taking drugs.” Two humbler artists, Davide Perrone and Gabriele Giuggioli, showed analogous respect and reverence to the Serene Highness Music, by naming their duo “Primal Code”.
In 2019, Hypnus already reached a certain hype mainly thanks to Luigi Tozzi, Feral and of course Michel at the head. Primal Code also contributed to the success, with the well-designed “Ēteru” and “La Via Della Seta” (“The Silk Road”). Yet when “Caimano Tribe” came out, it brought a form of complex tribalism that we never heard before: Feral was somewhere in the forest while Primal Code was bringing us on exotic travel adventures. This is when – for us – their music stopped being “just Italian” to finally become “Primal Code-ish”, innovative and inspiring for others.
For our greatest pleasure, Primal Code participated to our 51st selection.
