Then, have in mind the words from the older Rose in Cameron’s “Titanic,” when she said: “It’s been 84 years, and I can still smell the fresh paint”. Due to another shock, admittedly at a different scale, we can also say about Notzing’s live performance: “It’s been 2 years and we can still feel the fresh sound.”
When “Page 95” came out on Hypnus‘ mystical spellbook, “The Memoir,” our brain’s emotional side shouted, “IT’S INSANE!” A few minutes later, our brain’s structured side repeated the exact same expression.
Notzing’s journey talks to our primitive senses. It destroys all the social walls at the source of the mask we all show, it penetrates every layer that surrounds our consciousness, reaches its deepest core and blows it into billions of “non-materialistic” pieces.
IT CONTAINS THE DIVINE ANCESTRAL LANGUAGE…
Talking about it, two other imprints also come to mind between the frequencies, next to Hypnus, to draw some risky parallels:
What do you love about the label Horo? For us: the intensity, the risk, the daring to catch the listener’s soul and heart with fat sounds, the high emotion that they rise, compared to the flat, over-mimicked linear tracks. In one word: “LIFE”.
What do you love about the label PoleGroup? For us: the complex textures in which it is so easy to get lost, the repetition, the way it alienates and dissolves the mind, the groove, the mental milling machine, the Great Attractor. In short: “THE VORTEX”.
With this live act, Notzing appeared to us as a true demigod: half punk, half therapist, as if Horo were his mortal father, full of life, and PoleGroup his divine mother, legendary. Through the mystical soundscape, the Madrid-based prodigy unleashed the dragon to become “KING NOTZING,” with the power to rewrite the laws of sound, the triumph over his peers, past and present, and the (dis)order, in front of which we shall all kneel down…
At least here in the Circle, we kneel down in front of you, dear Lord of the lords, granting and officialising your incontestable reign.
