MUSIC RECOMMENDATION

10TH SELECTION – A new one every Monday.

Want to stay up to date with the most recent music, for instance for your DJing? Each Monday, we list and comment on our favourite releases of the moment. This week:

Rhodes Strixman – Psalms (Mute) [Halley Labs, 2021-11-18]

DRUM’N’BASS

One of the most subtle experimental drum’n’bass releases of late last year.

Primal Code – AI Calculator [Kalahari Oyster Cult, 2022-01-28]

EXPERIMENTAL

Hypnus spearhead Primal Code sent us a creative letter from Milano, full of modular words and sonic discoveries. The EP on KOC includes a groovy remix by Priori, who clearly understood the language.

Gabriel D’Or and Bordoy – Same Visions EP [Dynamic Reflection, 2022-01-07]

DANCEFLOOR-ORIENTED

Hot tracks on the quality techno label Dynamic Reflection, by the well-established Italian duo, true to its sound signature… and if you ask yourself, no, there is no family link between Gabriel D’Or and Cio D’Or.

B. Riley – CTRL005 [CMND CTRL, 2022-01-28]

DANCEFLOOR-ORIENTED

Field recordings of the ocean waves, rolling effect, “warm welcome to Miami” in Brandon Riley’s new EP, featuring a remix by master Psyk. Both artists bring us earlier in the summer beaches, which is well-appreciated.

Trigöks – Blackness And Neon Turquoise Light [Trigöks, 2022-01-21]

ATMOSPHERIC TECHNO

The Estonian artist leaves his musique concrète for a minute, to offer us a beautiful moment of peace, in this very quiet musical journey.

Pause – Facing The Purple Sun EP [.inphase, 2022-01-28]

DANCEFLOOR-ORIENTED

Bangers alert by the French artist, helped by Viels, on the young promising label that he co-owns and that we highly recommend you to dig into: there is nothing to throw in .inphase‘s mesmerising releases.

Personnage – Outsider EP [Tech Cycle, 2022-01-28]

DRUM’N’BASS

In-between techno and drum’n’bass, the Russian label Tech Cycle impresses us in each of its releases since its resurrection in 2019. It inspired Sigrún’s owner to be deeper than ever, featuring a dope remix by Michal Jablonski.

Pjusk – Salt og Vind [Pjusk, 2022-01-28]

AMBIENT

Intriguing, beautiful, melodious, creative, each piece of the Norwegian artist’s last album is perfect to introduce a mix, or to fly over the multi-shaped clouds of the North Country.
